Lori Clark (Yasmina)
Lori Clark is a professional dancer who has performed Middle Eastern and
Indian dance for many years, both locally and abroad. She has a Masters
Degree in Dance from American University and regularly dances with the
Washington National Opera in the Kennedy Center. She is also referred to as
Yasmina.

In India, she studied Kathak at Sri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra under Guru
Bansi Lal. She has choreographed and performed special dances for the
Embassies of Kuwait and Qatar. These performances include choreographies
for Alma Powell and former British Ambassador Christpher Meyers. She has
also performed for the embassies of Egypt, Russia, Singapore, and at the
Yemini Ambassador's residence. In New Delhi India she performed solo along
with the Egyptian National Folk Dance Troupe for a festival celebrating
relations between India and Egypt. She performed and taught at the Walters
Art Gallery in Baltimore for their 'Orientalism in America' exhibit.

Lori (Yasmina) has performed in every Arabic club in the area as well as in
Arabic restaurants such as Casablanca and Aladdin. She also dances in
educational school programs for W.P.A.S in local schools. Lori (Yasmina) was
profiled in The Washington Post's Weekend section article on Belly Dance
dated April 27, 2001. She has performed in the I.D.E.A. Festival of Indian
Dance and danced with Afghani singer,
Noor Woodjouatt, interpreting ghazals
in Farsi. They have performed for Afghan television and for the celebration of
Asian Pacific Heritage Month in Prince Georges County. In June, she
performed for the First Lady, Laura Bush, at the Embassy of Kuwait and
recently for the birthday celebration of Peter Pace, Head of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff. Lori (Yasmina) accompanied Noor Wodjouatt, being the first Afghan
performer at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and U.S. Department of
State. They have also performed for the Iranian TV Station Rang-a-rang, an
internationally viewed station.
